MyImgur is the most handy capture and uploader tool you’ll ever find for Windows computers. I found this program and thought it was amazing but it has one huge problem for me. I have dual monitors and whenever I use screen capture area and select a region on my second monitor it captures a region from my main monitor. If I select a region on my main monitor it works fine and captures that area. The only way I can capture my second monitor is to select a region the is capturing part of both monitors. Other than that every things works perfect, I would love to have this fixed so I can permanently start using this. I’m using version 3.75 Thanks!
Hello, that seems very weird; I have 3 monitors and never had this issue. Could you show me the settings of your monitors arrangement?

made a small donation ahead of the holidays 🙂 great software, my only wish would be that you make the notification bubble display the resulting screenshot when you click on it. i did notice one problem, the colors acquire an overexposure effect when you take screenshots in the Pale Moon web browser. very noticeable if you make a series of screenshot from each resulting pic, e.g. http://imgur.com/a/IAgbK. would be swell if you can fix that too

Thank you for the donation 🙂 I will do that for next update, so that when you click on the bubble it opens the direct image link. As for the colors, I’m not very sure what you mean, but it might be something with the jpeg compression.

there are no longer any visible artifacts when using the 100% JPG option, the output is now similar to other programs i tested (ShareX, Greenshot). thanks again for the fix, i’m a bit short on cash at the moment but i promise i’ll put in a donation as soon as i can

Seems it was an issue with the 64-bit version, now fixed with the latest update.
very nice program, really convenient vs something like ShareX or Greenshot. my only qualm with it is that 100% jpg is of much inferior quality than PNG. sometimes i need to take quick pictures to put into online forms that only accept JPG, so having to convert from PNG is a gigantic waste of time vs using an alternative software.hope you can consider boosting the quality of 100% jpg option. tyvm and enjoy your day
Can you give me an example image and conversion software that produces higher quality jpeg than myimgur?

The code is already in the app. Most likely your Norton is blocking/sandboxing it.

Did you try restarting it? Sometimes drag and drop doesn’t work right after setup, because the installer executes the app with admin-rights (I do have some code to work around that though). Do you maybe have Comodo Firewall or a similar sandboxing anvitirus program that might be blocking MyImgur?

Actually I figured it out. It was confusing since nothing was happening and no errors showing. It was looking for a default browser that I no longer had installed. When I re-set IE as default, it popped right up with the authentication key. Works great now!

Most likely some issue with the way your web browser catches links from other apps. As much as I’d like, it’s not easy to detect whether it worked or not: the app opens the URL, and after that it depends on your system, it should launch on the browser that was configured to catch http links, maybe in a new tab etc, detecting what happens after the dialog is not feasible. What I can do though is have an option to copy the URL to the clipboard so you can paste it in the browser.
I would suggest some error checking/trapping so when an event doesn’t happen (like when the web page is not loading with the Authentication number) a dialog pops up giving us information to report back here. Right now, I’m just in the dark as to why it doesn’t launch the web page.

Hello! Using this program at home and it works just fine. Installed at work and when I click the Login button for authentication, nothing happens. (no web page is launched with the authentication info). Work uses no proxy and no websites are blocked.
Any antivirus? (avast/norton?)

Most likely Avast or Norton crap.
every time I try to download the latest update my antivirus pops up and prevents me of further action. It might be a false positive since this never happened with previous versions, but at the same time I don’t wanna risk it

thank you for the reply and update. It did fix one of the issues, my account is no longer logged out if I choose to shut down my computer and restart.
Although the other issue remains that whenever I take a screenshot, it will not save the image on my computer as a png or jpg file.

Make sure the “Capture” button is on in the main window, below the refresh button.
I’m going to have to start using a different program.
Although, the idea of Myimgur is straightforward and simple, it doesn’t fulfill the needs I want it to.
A couple things:
1. Whenever I turn off my computer, it auto-logs me out. Then I have to copy/paste the code and log back on.
2. It never saves any files to hard drive.
If you can fix these issues, I’ll re-download it.
I’m using Windows 8.
Both issues are fixed in next version which I can upload in a few hours.
1st issue can be solved by closing the app before Windows shutdown.
2nd issue is most likely the “Naming” box being empty in the settings, default is “$date ~ capture”
Is there a way to have the direct link to the image copied to the clipboard, rather than the one leading to the page with options and links.

That’s already the case, however imgur seems to redirect to the full page the 1st time for some reason, hadn’t seen this behaviour before.
Do you think you can modify that behaviour or is that only possible serverside?
It’s server-side, but I don’t think it’s intended, must be some bug on their end.
Nevermind, I guess you’re saying this behaviour is unique.
I guess I’ll just have to live with it.

Actually I noticed just now that it actually copies the correct link, but I’m getting redirected to the other page anyways. It seems to work if I paste the url into my browser a second time or any number of times afterwards. I just get to the page with tools on the first shot.
Beta 3.7 (x64): After entering the pin code program shows “Login succesful” and error “‘false’ is not a valid integer value” 🙁
Oh, and “Account” in main window doesn’t update after login, but after restarting program it shows actual login account.

Close the app then delete “settings.xml” in C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\MyImgur
Deleted it. Error still appears on login. 🙂
(Well, if I log on one time, after error it saves my login (and it appears after restart) and I don’t need to log in again => no error 🙂 )
After updating myimgur won’t load anymore (Win7). There is an icon in taskbar but it won’t interact (click, right-click). The window never comes up. Uninstall Re-Install did not fix.

try 32bit portable. I’m preparing a major update for today or tomorrow with these issues hopefully fixed and some new features/major speed up.
i installed 3.62 version but it doesn’t open.
i’ve now tried all the new versions, portable and installers, x32 and x64. all of them crash on start, the x32 version gives you a popup with the error message. so i’m just wondering if its possible to download the previous version somehow? the previous version had problems but it at least worked and let me upload screenshots to my account.

Using v3.62 x64 and it starts up, works fine, all up until I try and login. Try and login, and the program stops responding after a moment, and then closes itself. Not sure if this is a problem that is occurring because I updated and it’s using old data (I fully uninstalled and reinstalled, still does it), or what, but it makes it unusable in terms of uploading to my actual account.

Click on the program but the main window never pops up, it just shows the little icon at the bottom right of the taskbar but that’s it

damn this app is making my life a lot easier, its really awesome.
but i’ve been having some issues. these issues doesn’t just happen every now and then, this happens every time.
so every time i start up the app i get this

other than that, thnx for an awesome app. before i found this i was using the print screen key, pasting in a bmp, saving it as png and uploading manually on imgur which took its time, but with this either one press and select what you want or just a key press to a whole window and i get the adress in my clipboard. amazing.

the issue is mostly with account calls, anon upload seems to work better.
ok, so it’ll probably be fixed in the next version. maybe new code and commands on imgur site so the app can’t communicate with the site fully.
just wanted to make sure that it wasn’t just me having this issue or if it was something i could do about it.

Is it possible to upload files to an album without having the filename put in the description field on imgur?

It didn’t do this before. Something changed in the last year. Not sure if it’s something in myimgur or on the website.

First time I ran MyImgur 3.61 Beta Drag+Drop in main window worked, but now I can’t get it to work, but if I drop pic on MyImgur shortcut the pic is uploaded. I’m running Windows 8.1 on a 64-bit PC so how can I get Drag+Drop to work again? I have used 32+64 Portable + MyImgur361 x64.exe versions. Please help me to get Drag+Drop to work in main window again.
Hi, it’s working fine for me in a Win8.1 VM.
I’ve been looking for an alternative to Puush and its super-handy software, and this software seems to be just the thing I’m looking for since I thought I’d give Imgur a try, but I cannot log in whatsoever. When I click “Login,” it opens a web page where it gives me a PIN to enter into the application. After I enter the PIN, I get an error notification in my system tray saying “Imgur request failed. Error during “Initial Login.” 200: OK-OK.” I also get an error window saying “Invalid pointer operation.”

I am using 3.6 Beta on Windows Vista SP2 32-bit and I downloaded the 32-bit installer. Please respond because this program seems like it would be very useful and awesome if I could only figure out how to get it to work properly on my machine.
Does it always fail with that same message? The Imgur API isn’t working very well at the moment, but the error you describe is a bit different:

I just tried it several more times and yes it keeps failing with the same message over and over again. What I got from that thread is that it fails for that person sometimes and not others, whereas for me it fails every time.
I have found out what is causing MyImgur not to sign in; it’s this program called Networx which I have been using to keep track of my data usage. I must turn it off to use MyImgur, which kinda sucks because I don’t like having to turn off a program that help me keep track of data usage. I have no idea why or how Networx was interfering with MyImgur.
Anyway, as others have already stated, this program won’t upload GIFs; it gives me the error box “JPEG Error #53” whenever I try. If this happens, it won’t upload any other pics until I restart the app. Also, if I copy a picture file to my clipboard, it won’t let me upload via the “paste from clipboard” feature.
The option to log in is missing. Next to account is just shows -Not logged in-, then when I add an image it changes to “free.” So it doesn’t upload to my actual account. Using version 3.6 Thanks.

Anyway you could add a checkbox that makes the thing stay minimized and not pop up every time I ->send to imgur, or take a screen capture?
The drag and drop feature is not working in windows 8.1 64bit (Running 64bit version of MyImgur )
Restart it and try again, drag&drop can bug if the app is run as admin (by default from the installer).
Stopped working recently, says “API error 401, re-login may be needed”. I am logged in to imgur.
